Attorney Erin E. Avey, Esq.
Background and Education
Erin grew up in the small town of Davisburg, Michigan. After graduating from Holly High School, Erin attended Oakland University where she majored in Communication and minored in Writing & Rhetoric and Applied Leadership Skills. While at Oakland University, Erin worked at the Department of Campus Recreation and at the Oakland University Writing Center as a writing tutor. Erin also completed several internships, including working for a local music publicity firm and the Lake Orion Area Chamber of Commerce. Erin graduated Summa Cum Laude from Oakland University with her Bachelor of Arts in 2015.
After graduating from Oakland University, Erin relocated to East Lansing, Michigan to attend law school at Michigan State University College of Law. While in law school, Erin participated in the First Amendment Clinic, served as an Associate Editor of the Michigan State Law Review, earned four Jurisprudence Achievement Awards, worked as a Research Assistant, and completed the King Scholar Program. Erin graduated Summa Cum Laude from Michigan State University College of Law in 2018.
Employment and Experience
During law school, Erin completed an externship in Flint, Michigan that involved providing free legal services in the areas of Social Security Disability law, elder law, and family law to those in need. In 2017, Erin began working in the field of no-fault insurance law as a law clerk in Troy, Michigan. After passing the bar exam in October 2018, Erin was hired as an Associate Attorney representing medical providers who were not being compensated by insurance companies for treating patients injured in motor vehicle accidents.
Erin joined Fisher, Fowler & Williams, PLC in October 2019 as a Senior Associate Attorney focused on no- fault insurance law, including medical provider cases and first and third party cases.
In Her Spare Time
When she’s not working diligently with her team at Fisher, Fowler & Williams, PLC, Erin enjoys listening to music, going to concerts and movies, spending time with her fiancé and their pets, and relaxing near water, whether on a boat, at the beach, or in a pool.
